The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
Heat and a bit of humidity are the theme for today! Sunshine will warm us quickly, in the 80’s by late morning and ultimately to a high around 90. With the mugginess factored in, it could feel more like 93 or 94 during the heat of the afternoon.
A few more clouds will develop around lunchtime, and could give way to a few pop up showers and thunderstorms by mid-afternoon. We don’t; expect widespread strong storms, but you should be ready to step inside in case a few rumbles of thunder do happen to materialize nearby. Tonight, most of the rain will fizzle and temperatures will fall to the upper 60’s for Albany and surrounding towns. Most everyone else will be a bit cooler by Sunday morning, with low 60’s in the Mid-Hudson and upper 50’s in the mountains.
Sunday looks like a bit of a repeat – temperatures will be almost as warm, humidity will stay elevated, and a couple thundershowers could again materialize.
We get a cool down for Monday and Tuesday – but it comes at as cost – clouds and widespread showers will prevent us from warming. Keep the umbrella handy! We then clear out and warm back up for the remainder of the work week.
