Tropical moisture covers much of the Atlantic Seaboard. The heaviest rains today were well west of us…but will shift eastward on Wednesday. FLASH FLOOD WATCH in effect for all areas west. some spots in the Catskills have already received 6-9″ of Rain…and the Gilboa Reservoir has gone up 10 feet…sio it is very high.
A cold front in the Great Lakes moves slowly eastward-combined with all this moisture. Heavy downpours break out Wednesday morning….and will continue into the afternoon and evening…flooding issues will increase locally and for Western New England as Wednesday progresses.
Wednesday night…as the Cold front arrives….this may actually enhance some bands of heavier rain up until midnight with even some thunder. Watch for ponding on roads and flooding of poor drainage areas.
As the front shift east-slightly drier air arrives Thursday afternoon…but another front on Friday will give us another threat of Showers and T’storms.
