3/22/19: Winter Storm Warnings & Winter Weather Advisories through Saturday AM

Weather Blog

Get ready for a messy Friday…We’re tracking rain, a wintry mix and heavy snow depending on where you live.

Snow showers are steady and heavy as you head towards the Adirondacks and Catskills early but through the morning and afternoon we’ll see more steadier and heavier snow fill in for the Green Mountains and Berkshires.

The second round tonight and into early Saturday morning is going to really bring some heavy snow into the Berkshires. Heavier snow in the Adirondacks and Catskills will be quite heavy and that’s why significant totals are even higher in Adirondacks/Catskills accounting for what fell this morning and tonight. The upslope late tonight will be quite impressive and really bring additional heavy snow for folks just outside of the Hudson Valley.

As the snow tapers off by 8AM Saturday, we’ll see drier skies as early as 10 AM. We’ll still be very windy with gusts near 40-55 mph so there could be some concerns for power outages in the mountains? We’ll have a brighter afternoon Saturday and all that sunshine is staying with us Sunday. What a quick rebound Sunday with milder air compared to the blustery and COLD Saturday.
