2/28/19: Slick & Snow-Covered Early Commute: Travel Greatly Improves After 9 AM

Weather Blog

We’re off to a slick and snow-covered start. You’re waking up to a general 4-6″ with the accumulating snow over but lingering flurries until 6-7 AM. Any early travel is messy but the afternoon will greatly improve! In fact, after 9AM-we’ll notice it’s an easier drive around town with the roads crews getting ahead of the mess from last night-overnight.

We’re still in for a cold Thursday-even with the afternoon sunshine. We’ll find sunshine again Friday with temperatures not quite as cold in the mid-30s for highs. Saturday will start dry and cloudy but some snow showers and spots of mixing can work in for the afternoon/evening. Nothing too significant but snow showers can be more plentiful north and west of Albany. Sunday is a day that warrents watching–late evening snow can quickly add up with late night-overnight sleet/freezing rain mixing in? It could make for a very slick commute early Monday. Still early but stay tuned and updated for thay next potential mess…
