6/16/19: Showers end Tonight… Sunshine Returns Monday

Latest Forecast Update from Meteorologist Rob Lindenmuth:

It was a pretty soggy day today, everyone picking up between 0.25″ and 1.25” of rainfall this afternoon. The showers will end this evening and will give way to mostly cloudy skies overnight tonight. The humidity will also begin to drop behind a cold front and as high pressure builds in we will see some sunshine tomorrow which will allow temperatures to rebound into the low to mid 70’s!

Surface analysis as of 5:30 shows a cold frontal boundary about to pass our region. This has been a very slow moving system which is why we ended up with more rain today than was originally expected.

However, we will begin to dry out this evening and aside from a stray area of drizzle most of the showers and rain should be done by 10 this evening.

The good news is, high pressure is building in from southern Canada and will bring us increasing sunshine through tomorrow afternoon and a return to more seasonable temperatures along with less humidity.

Beginning Monday morning we likely will be starting with some clouds, however, we will progressively become sunnier through the afternoon and into the evening of Monday. Great way to start the work week!

By the afternoon I think we will be seeing a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures in the low to mid 70’s.

We will remain unsettled for the rest of the week. Not any one day will be a washout but the threat for showers does look to exist as a frontal boundary will be stalled out very close to us. Depending on how far north that boundary moves will determine how wet we become this week. By next weekend we do look to try to dry out by Saturday afternoon and into the day on Sunday.

Have a great week!
