The following cities and towns have issued snow emergencies:

  • Athens, N.Y.: Alternate side street parking is in effect on ALL streets located within the Village of Athens. All vehicles will be parked on the even side of the street from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., and the odd side of the street from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Alternate side parking will be in effect until the snow is removed from the street. 
  • Brunswick, N.Y.: The Town of Brunswick has declared a snow emergency starting at 5:00 PM today, Tuesday January 29, 2019 until Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 5:00PM. Residents are asked to park in their driveways. There will be no parking in the streets. Any vehicle in violation of the parking restrictions will be ticketed and/ or towed at the owner’s expense.
  • Glens Falls, N.Y.: Snow Emergency in the City of Glens Falls beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29th and running until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30th. When the Snow Emergency is declared motorists are prohibited from parking on City streets to allow plow crews to clear the snow. During the Snow Emergency, vehicle travel is discouraged.
  • Rotterdam, N.Y.: The Town of Rotterdam Highway Superintendent has declared  a  snow  emergency  beginning  at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, January 29, 2019 and ending at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, January 30, 2019. As a reminder, there shall be no cars parked on Town roads or other items on the side of Town roads.  Any vehicle parked on a Town road during this time will be ticketed and towed.
  • Saratoga Springs, N.Y.: A snow emergency has been declared in the City of Saratoga Springs in preparation for the upcoming winter snow storm. The snow emergency takes effect at 9:00 pm on Tuesday, January 29, and will be in effect until 9:00 am Thursday, January 31. During a snow emergency, all vehicles must be moved to a cleared or plowed area every twelve hours. City streets with alternate side parking are not impacted and cars should be moved as previously posted.


The following events have been canceled due to the storm:

  • The Albany Health Fair planned for this evening has been POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER.The event will be rescheduled for a later date.
