ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Jamaica Queens man pleaded not guilty for the charge of one count of Murder in the Second Degree Monday morning. Lee Williams will be remanded at the Albany County Jail while the court works on a formal bail application.

An investigation by Albany Police found evidence that he struck 62-year-old Valena Shepherd several times while inside her apartment at 1 Lincoln Sq on January 4, 2020. Shepherd sustained traumatic injuries and died as a result. Williams was arrested on April 16 and has been in jail since.

Assistant District Attorney Michael Shanley is handling the prosecution of this case.
