ALBANY, N.Y. – The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats bridged the new year with back-to-back wins over their sister school from Rochester. On Thursday night, Pat Filien’s squad improved to 10-7 with a 84-73 victory. Former Green Tech star Jamil Hood, Jr. recorded a double-double with 28 points and 19 rebounds.

Siena sweeps MAAC weekly award for second straight week

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — For the second consecutive week Siena Men’s Basketball has swept the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Weekly Awards and, perhaps most impressively, has done so with four different Saints earning honors. After Manny Camper and Aidan Carpenter earned their first career MAAC weekly awards last week, today sophomore guard Jordan King was chosen as the MAAC Player of the Week while freshman forward Colin Golson, Jr. was selected the MAAC Rookie of the Week.

King was also tabbed both the College Sports Madness and Low Madness MAAC Player of the Week Monday. The local product from nearby Albany, New York set new career-highs in scoring in back-to-back games, averaging 21.5 points and 4.5 assists in leading the Saints to a pair of road wins at Rider last week. King shot a stellar 60% (12-20) from the field, including 64% (9-14) from three to propel Siena to a pair of key road victories in the absence of MAAC Preseason Player of the Year Jalen Pickett.

UAlbany men’s basketball sweeps NJIT with 83-71 win Sunday

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — UAlbany men's basketball completes the sweep against NJIT, winning Sunday's finale 83-71.

"I thought our guys did a pretty good job overall tonight," head coach Will Brown said. "NJIT had played six conference games before this weekend and had never been swept. I thought they were going to come out with a chip on their shoulder. When you have a guy like Cooks, he can dominate a game by himself and he's done that his whole career. We had some foul trouble in the second half and we had to be careful, but the guys that came in did a great job and held the fort down. We made plays when it mattered and we were able to finish the game off."
