Police investigating after some lawmakers claim Capitol tours were given to rioters ahead of breach

WASHINGTON (NewsNation Now) — U.S. Capitol Police are investigating if members of Congress gave unsanctioned tours the day before the breach of the Capitol Complex.

Earlier this week, a letter from over 30 House Democrats called for an investigation from Capitol Police, claiming lawmakers saw "suspicious" tours on Tuesday, Jan. 5, the day before the Capitol was breached by violent pro-Trump supporters as Congress certified the Electoral College vote for President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

What lies ahead for the impeachment process against Trump?

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) —South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham is calling for the impeachment process to stop and says moving on with the trial after President Trump leaves office is unconstitutional.

Unions sue over paid coronavirus quarantine leave

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF) and the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA) have both filed lawsuits regarding their members' access to paid coronavirus quarantine leave. The PEF is suing three state agencies: the Department of Civil Service (DCS), the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) and the Office of Mental Health (OMH), claiming the state has "irrationally and improperly deprived union members of their guaranteed right to paid COVID-19 quarantine leave."

Citing a policy issued by the Governor's Office of Employee Relations in March 2020, the PEF claims its members who have been placed in mandatory quarantine by state or local health officials are entitled to paid leave without charge to accruals, for all workdays within a two-week period.
