Watervliet woman caught with cocaine, pills in her panties

WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Officials say a woman was charged at the Washington County Jail for having drugs in her underwear and sock.

Authorities say on Monday September 12 the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Tanya Lee of Watervliet.

They say Lee was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband in the first degree, a class D felony, Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the fifth, a class D felony and Promoting Prison Contraband in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Police say she was being taken into custody on a separate matter when she was caught during the booking process. Correctional staff searched her and found prescription pills and cocaine in her sock and underwear.

Lee was arrested and processed at the Fort Edward station.

She was arraigned and remanded for lack of bail, with bail being set at $10,000, $20,000 bond.

Possible additional charges may be filed, police say.
