QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported that a five-year-old was found unresponsive at the Great Escape Lodge Water Park in the water on Saturday. The sheriff’s office classified this incident as an accidental drowning.
Police say the child was transported to Albany Hospital by Life Net and is reported to be stable. A spokesperson for Six Flags Great Escape has released a statement on the incident.
“Ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests is paramount to us which is why we have certified lifeguards and emergency personnel on property,” the Six Flags representative said. “Early yesterday evening, our on-site lifeguard and EMT team responded to a young swimmer in distress, providing immediate care. Emergency medical services were called; the guest was breathing when transported to a hospital for further attention.”
