This spring Warren County residents will have a direct line to the County Sheriff’s Office with a new cell phone app.
The app will allow the agency to alert residents to emergencies and situations such as weather issues or road closures, check the sex offender registry, submit a news tip, get inmate information, news and more. It’s similar to apps currently in use in Albany County and surrounding areas.
The Sheriff’s Office’s goal is to keep the public aware and informed. The app is expected to be launched on April 1st and will be available to iPhone and Android users.
NEWS10’s Cassie Hudson spoke to County Undersheriff Shawn Lamouree, who is in charge of the app roll out.
