TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Halloween is over, which means Thanksgiving is right around the corner. The Collar City is getting ready for its annual Turkey Trot.
The Troy Turkey Trot is in its 69th year, and is one of Troy’s signature events.
The event is the nation’s 11th largest turkey trot, and 12th oldest road race.
It draws as many as 8,000 recreational runners and walkers from 37 states and Canada.
There will be a 10K race, as well as a 5K, a grade school mile and a turkey walk.
If you’re planning to register, consider making a donation to the event’s two charities: The Regional Food Bank or Joseph’s House.
The turkey trot takes place Thanksgiving morning.
