TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Troy Fire Department and Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) are teaming up to recruit new firefighters.
Mayor Patrick Madden, the Troy Fire Department, and HVCC are encouraging young people in Troy to consider a career in the fire service industry through a program available at the college.
According to the city, the program will include a public engagement and outreach to minority and underserved communities and visits to local high schools.
HVCC’s Department of Cardiorespiratory and Emergency Medicine also plans on working with the Troy Fire Department will provide information on its Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program. That program offers training and certification for careers in the fire department and other emergency services.
