Target employee describes allegedly being bitten by woman accused of stealing

CLIFTON PARK, NY – A man is claiming he was bitten by a woman throwing a tantrum at Target in Clifton Park. That same woman was allegedly caught stealing.

The incident happened on September 14, 2016, when two loss prevention officers tried to detain Asia Gillard, 24, of Troy, but she became violent.

“Strong and worked up!” said Bryan Dinardi, Target employee.

Gillard bit two of the employees – one on the arm and the other on the chest.

Dinardi was one of the victims, and he says his arm became bruised and swollen to the point he could not go to work for three days.

“She somehow broke away and clenched my arm and got a nice, big bite mark out of me,” he added.

Eventually, Gillard was able to wiggle her way and broke loose.

“She ended up slipping through the hands and got through the exit door, ran through a minivan that was parked right here in the parking lot,” DiNardi said.

Police were able to make the arrest Monday after Gillard left her bag of stolen items in the store.

“She dropped her bag, which the sad part is, it was baby formula and kids DVDs, like Toy Story, so I mean, it wasn’t anything like high-end electronics,” DiNardi said.

Gillard was charged with two counts of Second Degree Robbery and Third Degree Assault.

“There’s cameras everywhere, so you’re going to get caught,” said Dinardi.Gillard was taken to the Saratoga County Jail on $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond. She is scheduled to reappear in court at 3 p.m. on September 28.
