Subcontractor for United Airlines accused of stealing tablet from Albany International Airport

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Sheriff Deputies from Albany County say a man was arrested at Albany International Airport after he allegedly stole a Samsung tablet from a United Airlines security guard.

Authorities say on Friday February 12 United Airlines corporate security reported to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office that a Samsung tablet had been stolen from one of their flights at the Albany International Airport.

Investigation revealed that an individual identified as 28-year-old John Johnson of East Greenbush, who is employed by Envoy Air – a subcontractor for United Airlines, stole the Samsung tablet.

Sheriff’s Investigators executed a search warrant at John’s home in East Greenbush and were able to recover the stolen Samsung tablet.

Sheriff’s Investigators arrested and charged him with one count of Grand Larceny in the fourth degree.

Police say John was arraigned in the Town of Colonie Court and released on $15,000 bail.
