Schenectady Art Society adds color to city traffic boxes

The Schenectady Art Society is adding some color to the city in 2019.

Eight traffic signal control boxes were decorated in 2018 by different artists.

The group would have liked to complete more, but weather-related issues, rain and extreme heat in July and August, halted their progress.

According to Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy, the community has really enjoyed the artwork.

The group is hoping to decorate an additional 20 boxes ths year.
