SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – NEWS10 ABC’s Lindsay Nielsen was given a lengthy tour of the Rivers Casino and Resort.
The major project is still under construction.
Construction is on schedule as crews continue to work on the casino. They say there will be plenty of parking and there is a parking garage.
“This whole space can be activated to accommodate up to 600 people for a sit-down dinner, which is one of the largest spaces in the Capital Region,” Joe Scibetta, VP of Operations at Rush Street Gaming, said.
Scibetta gave an inside look at the Rivers Casino and Resort, the event center he describes can hold up to 900 people altogether.
The Casino will also have an entertainment lounge, a market place, a day spa, and hundreds of slot machines. We can’t forget about the large steak house restaurant.
The $330 million private investment casino is set to open early next year and they are ready to hire now.
“There are 1,200 new jobs available. A lot of our folks that work for us at Rush Street Gaming in our other properties have been working with us for a long time. So, jobs become careers and I think that’s the most positive aspect of what we’re bringing here.”
