TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An incarcerated man at the Rensselaer County Jail will serve 9.5 years in prison after attacking a corrections officer.
Matthew Fluty was in jail on unrelated charges when he beat and strangled an officer back in January. He pleaded guilty to strangulation in the first degree.
The victim lost consciousness and suffered serious injuries.
