TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Troy City Council has voted to let kids in the Collar City play ball. The city council voted unanimously to change an old law that made it illegal to play ball on city streets. Mayor Patrick Madden has 10 business days to sign the new proposal into law.

The new legislation will amend a law in the city’s code that states: “No person shall play ball in any of the streets of the City.” Council President Carmella Mantello wanted to completely repeal the law, but instead, language will be added that restricts ball playing if the person blocks traffic flow.
