COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Power was cut off to parts of Colonie Saturday afternoon after a transformer fire occurred not far from Albany International Airport.

Colonie Police said multiple locations lost power for hours including the airport, Hilton Garden Inn on Albany Shaker Road and other nearby hotels.

National Grid was seen working in the area for much of the afternoon. Officials said the power has been restored to much of the area.
