MENANDS, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The owner of the Gulf gas station in Menands was left with a big mess after four kids were fighting inside the store Thursday afternoon.

The Gulf gas station on North Pearl Street in Menands had broken shelves and a floor full of snack cakes after the melee.

Surveillance footage shows four young people standing at the front of the store talking. Then, they start pushing and punching one another until one of them fell on his back and onto the shelves.

Customer Tony Jones, a father of two boys, said the fight was concerning.

“My kid is young,” he said. “[If I] send my kid to the store, I don’t want him to get into a fight with nobody.”

Menands police said no one was injured, and all four individuals left the store after the fight. Police are also looking into what caused the melee.

A worker with the store gave police surveillance footage to use as evidence.

“Sometimes kids don’t have nothing to do, so they get into trouble and need more recreational centers and need more jobs,” Jones said. “Things like that.”

Several customers watched the surveillance play back on the monitor in the store. They said it was an unfortunate and surprising incident.

Police said they have been able to identify one of the kids involved, but they are still searching for the other three.
