GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say a man was arrested for allegedly shooting a kitten in the eye with a BB gun.

According to authorities on Sunday, February 28 just after 2 p.m. officers from the Gloversville Police Department were called to a residence on Mill Street for a report that someone had shot an animal with a pellet gun.

When they got there witnesses told the police that a kitten had been shot at close range with either a pellet or BB gun severely injuring an eye. The kitten was taken to a local animal hospital before the officers even got there.

The suspect had also left the area.

Through the course of the investigation and various interviews police arrested Jordan Bombard of Mill Street, Gloversville and charged him with Agriculture and Markets Law Aggravated Cruelty of Animals which is a felony, NYS Penal Law Reckless Endangerment a misdemeanor and Gloversville City Code Violation for Discharging a Weapon.

Bombard was arraigned in Gloversville City Court and remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility on $5000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
