Pioneer Bank robbery suspects caught and charged

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police located and arrested James Matzen, 22 of Troy and Lauren Sankowski, 30 of Schenectady for the bank robbery in Rotterdam.

The two are accused of going into Pioneer Savings Bank on Altamont Avenue on Thursday.

Matzen was charged with one count of robbery in the First Degree as well as one count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree.

Sankowski was charged with one count of robbery in the Third Degree as well as one count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree.

Matzen was remanded in lieu of $100,000 bond or $50,000 cash and Sankowski was remanded in lieu of $20,000 bond or $10,000.
