CASTILE, N.Y. (WROC) — New York State Park Police rescued a 3-year-old black lab that fell 150 to 200 feet in the gorge at Letchworth State Park on Sunday.

A specialized police ropes team geared up and went down to save the stranded dog. The adorable canine suffered a broken leg and some minor injuries, but is doing okay and is now back with its owner!

The Labrador retriever, named Achilles, took the plunge about 50 miles southeast of Buffalo, the park police said in a Facebook post.
