NEW YORK (NEWS10) — Opening statements in the trial of Keith Raniere and other NXIVM members have been pushed back to May 7.
Court documents show the government requested that the trial be pushed back to May 13 because of several pre-trial motion which have yet to be resolved.
Raneiere’s attorneys filed paperwork with the court stating that they want to keep the scheduled April 29 trial start date.
NXIVM founder Keith Raniere and others were facing federal charges, including sex trafficking and forced labor, involving the alleged cult.
Allison Mack was the third defendant to plead guilty earlier this week.
