WILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Fire crews responded to a structure fire at a home at 21 Nichols Road in Wilton early Monday morning, says the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Wilton fire officials say the heaviest fire was in the rear of the home, where the fire is believed to have started.

Everyone was able to make it out safely, although one firefighter is being evaluated.

Though fire officials say the house is a total loss, the woman who lives in the home says firefighters were able to salvage an urn holding her son’s ashes.

Fire investigators responded to the scene and determined the cause of the fire to be an overloaded circuit to an outdoor freezer.
