NY Assemblyman calls for Hoosick Falls water crisis investigation

Web Staff - ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - New York Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (R,C,I-Troy) is calling for an investigation  into the Cuomo Administration and New York State Department of Health's handling of the Hoosick Falls water crisis.

The Assemblyman wrote a letter to U.S. Attorneys Preet Bharara and Richard Hartunian.

"I am asking you to open an in-depth investigation into the state's handling of the Hoosick Falls water crisis because our residents deserve answers and government officials should be held accountable," McLaughlin said.

The letter follows a report by Politico saying state workers actively withheld information from residents and purposefully did not follow EPA's guidelines concerning acceptable PFOA levels.

On Thursday, the governor's office says it will be releasing the Hoosick Falls blood test results taken months ago on Friday.
