ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – An NFL player opened up to NEWS10 ABC about his road to recovery following a devastating injury.
New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis is recovering from a torn ACL. It was the second major injury of his career.
The Albany native began last season on a roll. He averaged close to five yards a carry and scored four total touchdowns before getting hurt.
Yet Lewis isn’t worried about his longevity because he feels responding from injury is mostly mental. He was in good spirits when he sat down with NEWS10 reporter Josh Rultenberg.
“I’m very strong minded, so I’m not going to let anything like this – no injury – stop me from working or doing what I feel like I’m capable of doing,” Lewis said. “And I’m going to keep going and I’m going to keep working. I’m never going to quit, and that’s just the way I am.”
