It’s one of the stranger cases Erie Police have seen in a while.

It started when 30-year-old Courtney Chartley was arrested for bursting into a house, rushing past the occupants, and stealing a pair of pants allegedly containing drugs, money, and credit cards.

But, it became more bizarre when they took her to Saint Vincent Hospital to be treated for a hand injury.

They say it was there where she used a restroom to climb into the ceiling tiles but crashed through to the floor a short distance away.

Police added attempted to escape and vandalism to Chartley’s growing list of charges.
