Volvo hitting the brakes all in the name of safety. The company will start placing a speed limit on its vehicles in an effort to end fatal accidents.

As of right now, most vehicles can drive faster than 150 miles per hour. But Volvo says it will limit its cars from going faster than 112 miles per hour.

Volvo’s CEO says the plan will not end all fatal accidents. However, it’s an important step in their goal to have no serious injuries or deaths in Volvo vehicles by the year 2020.

The company is also planning to look at ways to prevent accidents by addressing driver behavior.
