Planning on having a BLT for lunch? You may want to think twice.

A new study claims that eating one slice of bacon a day could increase your risk of Colorectal Cancer.

Nearly half of a million adults in the United Kingdom were tracked by researchers for five years. They found that for every 25 grams (.08 ounces) of processed meats, a person’s risk went up 20%. 25 grams is roughly the same weight as one thin slice of bacon.

Researchers also saw the same effect with red meat, but the amount of red meat that caused an increased risk was larger. That amount comes in at a little more than 1.5 ounces.
