Three teenagers have landed behind bars after a video surfaced that shows them pointing a gun at a 13-year-old’s head, and then punching him.

Emily Bridges of Independence, Missouri said she had no clue why her son Darren came home with bruises on his face Saturday. She didn’t find out until her younger son showed her a shocking video.

In the video, Darren can be seen down on his knees as a group of older children stand over him and yell at him to kiss their feet. They are heard yelling racial slurs before one of them brandishes a gun and holds it against Darren’s head. The teens also stole his money, Bridges said.

“I was hurt. I was angry. I was crying. I was mad. I was upset because he didn’t defend himself,” Bridges said. “It’s sad that other kids think it’s ok to treat people that way. Because I don`t want my kids to treat people that way and I don’t allow them to.”

Bridges said she contacted police Monday, but they didn’t seem concerned about what happened to her son.

“He just really said that they’re minors, there’s not a lot that happens to them. They have to do community service. There’s not a lot, I should just keep Darren away from over there and keep him at home.”

On Tuesday, she contacted them again. Now three teens are in police custody in connection with the incident.

Further details were not immediately available.
