WASHINGTON (ABC) On Friday, President Donald Trump will announce a plan to spend close to $8 billion on the border wall, according to ABC News.
The money will be a mix of spending from Congressional appropriations approved on Thursday, executive action, and an emergency declaration.
According to a senior White House official familiar with the plan, $1.375 billion will come from the spending bill Congress passed on Thursday.
Funds through executive action include $600 million from the Treasury Department’s drug forfeiture fund and $2.5 billion from the Pentagon’s drug interdiction program.
With the emergency declaration, $3.5 billion will come from the Pentagon’s military construction budget.
As a result, the total amount the President plans to spend on the wall is $7.975 billion.
