It’s called “Zulresso” and the company behind it anticipates it will be available for use under prescription and strict supervision as early as June. The IV drug is given over two and a half days. During clinical trials, it was shown to work within hours.
The company says it will cost $34,000 without insurance, plus costs for staying in a hospital or infusion center. Whether it’s covered by insurance is determined by each insurance company.
