Adults aren’t the only ones vulnerable to the threat of identity fraud.

A new study by Javelin Strategy and Research found that one million children were the victims of identity theft in 2017.

They also found that it’s common for children to have accounts opened in their name, despite having very little existing credit card history on file.

The study also stated that two-thirds of the victims were under the age of eight. In some cases, family members were responsible for stealing their identity to open a new credit card or accounts.
