AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A New York State Police trooper was injured after responding to a call for an aggressive dog in Amsterdam on Wednesday.

Police said the trooper was trying to help the owner, who was bit. The dog then attacked the trooper.

She pulled out her gun and shot and killed the dog. The trooper was taken to the hospital with significant bite injuries.
