CANAJOHARIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Montgomery County Emergency Services assisted the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department on Thursday with a hazardous material spill. The spill was at the Canajoharie Waste Water Treatment Plant and no injuries or damages were reported.

Around 8:20 a.m., self-contained breathing apparatus personnel and ventilation fans were requested to the location for a possible hazmat spill. According to the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department, Montgomery County and Fulton Hazmat teams both responded to the scene.

An ambulance was on standby to provide medical treatment to the teams if needed. Officials said there was no danger to the public, but they were advised to avoid the area.
