AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Crews battled a fire at Stewart’s Shops in Amsterdam Monday night. The fire took place at the store on Market Street.

According to officials from the Amsterdam Fire Department, the first crews arrived at the scene around 9:19 p.m. When they got there, flames and smoke could be seen coming from the roof of the building. The scene was cleared two hours later.

The Market Street location will be closed on Tuesday, and for the foreseeable future for repairs. No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation at this time.
