SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – On Thursday at approximately 11:35 a.m., a staff member at Draper Middle School received a phone call that was perceived as a threat. The Rotterdam Police Department was notified about the situation and worked closely with district officials to monitor the situation. In an abundance of caution, both Draper Middle School and Mohonasen High School were placed under lockout.
It’s the fourth time this year they’ve gone on lockout due to a “threat.”
After investigating, police and district officials have determined the threat was not credible, and the lockout was lifted around 12:25 p.m. Normal activities will resume and all outdoor activities will be held as planned.
A lockout is put in place when there is concern about a situation outside the building. Business continues as usual inside the building; however all doors are locked and visitors may only enter the building through the main door. Outdoor activities are suspended until there is a determination that the situation has been resolved.RELATED: Mohonasen High School, Draper Middle School lockdown liftedRELATED: Lockout lifted at Mohonasen HS and Draper Middle SchoolRELATED: Mohonasen CSD lockout lifted, threat not credible
