Local woman scratches her way to one million dollars

Lady luck shines a little brighter for one local woman.

Fifty-six-year-old Patricia Stanton of Niskayuna is the lucky recipient of the $1 Million jackpot prize.

Just after spending a day with her mom, her next purchase at a local Stewart’s Shop would become life-changing.

“I bought a couple of the Lady Luck 7 tickets and told my mom to pick one”, explained Stanton. “Hers was a $10 winner and mine ended up being the jackpot winner.”

She at first convinced herself that she was unlucky once again.
“I thought it was joke”, said Stanton.  “I showed my mom to confirm and she told me it was a winner!”

“I went straight home to show my father and my husband,” Stanton continued.  “I immediately signed the back of the ticket and put it away in a cabinet for safe keeping.”

She opted to receive her winnings in 20 annual payments of $50,000. As for what she will do with the money, she plans to take care of her family and her daughter’s college education.

“It like a dream,” Stanton says about her winnings.  “It doesn’t feel real.”
