Yard waste pick up extended in Schenectady due to recent weather changes

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The City of Schenectady has extended yard waste pick up for an additional two weeks following recent weather changes.

Mayor Gary McCarthy says pick up will be extended through the first and second weeks of December. Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves and plant materials.

Waste should be placed in 30 gallon brown bio-degradable paper bags. Plastic bags containing yard waste will not be collected.

Officials say yard waste will not be collected if it contains dirt, rocks, animal feces, or construction or demolition material.
