Video shows police breaking up fight involving deputies

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - New video released by the Saratoga Springs Police Department shows police breaking up a fight involving several off-duty sheriff’s deputies at a nightclub.

The incident took place on June 23 at the Reserve nightclub on Caroline Street. In the video, you can hear the off-duty deputy cursing at the bouncer.

The video was recorded from body cameras Saratoga Springs police now wear. It picks up right as four deputies are being kicked out of the club.

According to the police report, Saratoga Springs police had to break up the fight between the bouncers and off-duty deputies. The bouncer told city police that the deputies were causing an issue inside.

In another clip, you can also see the police officers examining a powdery substance near the stairwell, which the bouncer believed may have fallen out of one of the deputy’s pocket. Police tested it for cocaine, but he results came back negative.

Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo said the deputies are suspended without pay.
