Troy officials hope to open public pool by Fourth of July

Troy trying to reopen city pool by summer

City officials hope to have the South Troy Pool open in time for the Fourth of July.

The pool has been closed more than two and a half years due to wear and tear over the course of 70 years.

Troy City Council allocated $1.4 million to renovate the pool this year, but some say the goal to have it finished by Independence Day is an ambitious one.

The city also hopes to replace the Knickerbocker Pool in the near future as well, but that one needs much more work.
