Sunday, October 7th, thousands of people descending on the Collar City for their 12th annual ChowderFest. There’s something for everyone from fun, music and of course chowder. It is free to attend, but Tickets for tasting are $1 each and are redeemable for one 3 oz. bowl of chowder from a participating competitor. The event runs from Noon until 4 p.m.
There will be several different chowders to choose from, they are:
Cajun Crawfish Chowder
Manhattan Clam Chowder
Moroccan Harira Chowder
From The Farm Corn Chowder
Vegan Chicken Autumn Harvest Chowder
This year, Chefs are competing for the title of Most Original, Best Seafood, Best Vegetarian, Best Booth, People’s Choice and Judges Choice. Judging the competition will be Daniel Berman, Community Ambassador of Yelp! Albany, a representative from the City of Troy, Yelp! Elite Ryan Hennessy, Amy Koren-Roth of Taste of Troy Food Tours and Kathleen Willcox, a local Food Writer.
There will also be live music and events throughout the day.

ChowderFest goes green this year! Our competitors will be serving chowder in all compostable tasting cups and with spoons made from corn. Foodscraps360 will provide composting stations throughout downtown, so you can try more chowder while making efforts to keep a low carbon footprint!
