Troy City Council president fights sanctuary city designation

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Troy City Council president continues to fight against labeling her community as a sanctuary city.

Carmella Mantello plans to introduce a bill that would prohibit a designation at July’s city council meeting. She said it would restrict decisions made at the city level that should be decided by the federal government.

Should it pass, voters would get the final say in November.
