Top ranking NXIVM members appear in court

New updates in the case against the Capital Region cult NXIVM.

Leader Keith Raniere and Smallville Actress Allison Mack being joined in federal court on Wednesday by other top-ranking members of the group after a superseding indictment on Tuesday.

This is the first time we’ve seen what’s being called NXIVM’s “inner circle” in a room together since this all began.

“The Vanguard” and leader of the group Raniere and Mack were joined by NXIVM “prefect” and president Nancy Salzman as well as alleged financial backer and Seagrams heiress Clare Bronfman.

The superseding indictment brought federal racketeering charges against this inner circle.

The prosecution team saying they have around 60 electronic devices to weed through before beginning trial.

Raniere’s lawyers say he remains confident in his innocence.

They say more people have been helped by Raniere’s groups than hurt having strong words for those who are against him.

Those who say they’ve been hurt by NXIVM say this is headed in the right direction but far from over.

Salzman, Mack, and Bronfman are all out on bail while Raniere remains behind bars.

Another appearance has been scheduled for September 13 with tentative trial dates moved to January 7.
