Three arrested after heroin, stolen gun found in child’s toy


Three men were arrested after police found heroin and a stolen handgun inside a child’s toy during a traffic stop.

Maleek Singleton,37, of Hudson, Dorian Carr, 24, of Brooklyn, and Austin Carr, 25, of Brooklyn,  face charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of stolen property.

Hudson City Police and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office say they pulled over a car on Columbia Street Friday night and found a child’s toy that had 350 individual doses of heroin and a loaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver.

Detectives determined that the revolver had been stolen from Lexington County, South Carolina.

Maleek Singleton was convicted on May 6, 2014 of robbery in Westchester County Court.

Dorian Carr was convicted of DWI in Hudson City court on April 18, 2018, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in Warren County Court on October 31, 2002.

Dorian and Austin Carr are cousins.  The investigation is ongoing.
