John Puglisi teaches an electrical trades class at the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School.
His wife Beth had a brain tumor removed two years ago and recently underwent her fourth operation to deal with complications from the surgery. To support her, he challenged his friends on social media to either shave their heads in support of his wife or donate $10 to Albany Medical Center’s Neurosurgery Department.
His daughter shared the post on social media and some of John’s classmates saw it.
In a show of support, 22 students surprised him when he walked into class. Each one of them had a $10 bill in their hand.
