Scotia-Glenville Cheerleaders represent Capital Region at nationals

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - In February, the Scotia-Glenville Cheerleading Team will represent the Capital Region at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Fla.

After years of preparation, the team is working hard to make sure they are ready for the competition.

The last time the Scotia-Glenville High School went to nationals was in 2006 when Head Coach Kaylie Pennie was a cheerleader.

For Assistant Coach Aleecia Reinhart, it's her first year coaching at Scotia-Glenville High School and she couldn't be more proud to be sharing the moment with Pennie.

The team is still fundraising to be able to afford the trip on Feb. 8-10. It costs about $1,000 for each athlete to compete.
